Every Thursday, Izuku walks you to the train station. The two of you work late most days but on Thursday you find yourself staying until the custodians shooed you out of the building with a mildly annoyed look. It was his first year teaching and your first year teaching at a hero school. U.A, was unprecedented in its unconventionality and unique approach, it left you and Izuku constantly crushed beneath a mountain of half graded homework and lesson plans neither of you had time for.
It surprised you more than it probably should have, that Izuku was struggling. He was an alumni, he knew exactly how the system operated at a far deeper level than you did, but he was drowning. He wore a smile on his face nonetheless, he may have been drowning but he was doing it happily. You weren't sure if it was for his students sake or for his own, you’d assume it was the latter. Everyone needs something to keep themselves tethered and sewed together. You didn’t judge. There was something to knowing that a great hero like Izuku needed something to keep himself a float.
That’s why you stayed late every day after work to lend him a helping hand. The first years could use all the extra help they could get and so could he. Their English grades had been abysmal, apparently the worst Principal Nezu had seen in years. As their homeroom teacher, it was Izuku’s job to get to the bottom of things. That leads him to you, again and again. In search of an answer, you weren’t sure but you didn’t mind shouldering the burden. You learned in the first few years of your career, much of teaching meant relying on those around you for support. You leant on your mentor teacher and shared resources with the other newbies who filled the staff room early in the mornings. Izuku didn’t like to lean, he’d shoulder it all alone if he could help it. That’s how hero training shaped him, you think, you couldn’t be too sure.
“I appreciate the company,” you say, finally cutting the silence that sat in the air between you, “But, I don’t want to inconvenience you since you live on campus.”
The slowly setting sun rays prick at your irises forcing you to squint as you peered at Izuku over your shoulder. His neatly styled suit that he wore to work everyday was half crumpled, missing his blazer and bright red tie. They were slung over the back of his chair in his office, never lasting more than half the work day.
Izuku’s lips quirk up slightly, the glint in his eyes is the same one he uses to teases his childhood friends who stop by U.A, “Haven’t I told enough you that you’re never an inconvenience to me,” he grins, slinging his arm around your shoulders. He’s a few inches shorter than you, even shorter when you wear your platform oxfords, he has to stretch himself to reach your height, “Besides, it isn’t safe for you to walk home this late in the day.”
You roll your eyes, your face warm. It was one stop to the studio apartment you were renting in the heart of Musutafu. You were certain if he didn’t have to check up on the students in their dorms he’d likely walk all the way home with you. But, as a homeroom teacher, it was his job to ensure class 1.A didn’t burn down the dormitories before the tenth anniversary of them being added to the campus.
“Still, you have enough work on your plate, I don’t want to add to it.”
Stuttering out the last few words made the very tips of your pointed ears burn. Under the warm, golden glow that bathed the city sky, you hoped your blush wasn’t too apparent to the naked eye. Something akin to butterflies fluttered in and out of your ribcage, tickling your chest until you were squirming for reprieve. Though he was now quirkless, Izuku was still as strong as he was during the war. He easily kept you pinned against his side as the two of you strolled down the sidewalk.
“Walks are good for the body and soul!” He chirps, chuckling at your petulant frown, “If anything, I should be thanking you for letting me accompany you.”
Squinting at him, you heave a sigh, “So if I said no, you wouldn’t walk me to the station?”
Izuku paused for a moment as though he were thinking before a sheepish expression bled onto features. Colour filled his round, freckled cheeks as he chuckled.
“Well, no!”
The exasperated breath of air that passed your lips was melodramatic and half dramatized as if to cover your tracks. But, you liked this cat and mouse game that you and he played each time he walked you home. You liked him.
You weren’t supposed to like him, not in the way you currently did but your heart was weak to his kind eyes and the soft way he regarded you and his students.
“See! So, why would I even bother,” you murmur, turning your face away to hide the growing smile that played at your lips, “I know you, Izuku and I know how persistent you are!”
“I’m just trying to do my civic duty and keep you safe.”
You aren’t a hero, the words almost rolled off your tongue. As if the crushing reminder of all that was lost to him was some playful foible for you to tease out when the mood was right.
“I can keep myself safe just as well,” you say instead, “And, I carry that taser I confiscated from one of Gang Orca’s students at lunch.”
Izuku stares at you, long and hard. You wonder what he’s thinking about, if your lack of quirk or desire to be a hero worries him. Most had pipe dreams of the glory that came with the title hero. There were fewer people who didn’t care for heroics than those who were quirkless.
“Really?”
His eyebrows dart into his hairline as he openly gapes at you, shock marring his features.
“You know those are illegal, right?” He asks, his tone climbing higher and higher, “Isn’t that why you confiscated it in the first place?”
Letting out a nervous chuckle you blanched, “It is?” You question, biting the corner of your lip, “I confiscated it because it’s dangerous for kids to be in possession of, even when they’re super powered heroes in training.”
“Yes!”
The two of you pause in front of the subway station, silence washing over you for a moment.
“Why don’t I stop by your place and pick it up,” Izuku offers, his calloused fingertips brushing your elbow, “I can take it off your hands and get rid of it, no one has to know that you kept it.”
His hands are scarred, much more than yours could ever be. It’s a sobering reminder of the life he used to have, the life he could one day have. The two of you were so different, sometimes it was easy to forget that. You and he wanted different things, and your commonalities could one day disappear. The thought made your stomach churn in discomfort.
You liked his presence and his friendship. But, you knew if he still had his quirk he wouldn’t be teaching. It was a hard pill to swallow.
“Yeah, alright,” you mutter, forcing a smile to your lips, “If you’re coming all this way then at least let me treat you to dinner.”
Scratching the back of his neck, Izuku turns a deep shade of red, “No, it’s alright, I want to help you out!”
Before you’re able to protest, the air is stolen from your lungs as a stranger's body barrels into yours and you’re knocked to the ground. Your palms are skinned from the pavement, blood blotting along the surface as you groan in pain. A strange scent fills the air, it's nauseatingly sweet and forces a choked gasp from your lungs.
“Are you alright?” Izuku coughs, crouching down to help you off the ground, “Did you hit your head?”
You shake your head, lips tightly pursed as your face scrunches up. Warmth melts through your body, every hair standing on end as a shiver trickles down your spine. Try as you might, no words can pass through your lips. They get stuck somewhere in the back of your throat, leaving only the slightest of whimpers to slip through. Your cheeks burn even hotter with embarrassment as Izuku helps you to your feet, but you can hardly stand. Your knees threaten to buckle and your thighs shake.
“Let me… Let me call someone,” Izuku stutters, his body flush against yours.
You can feel his heart racing and the muscles in his arms trembling as he holds you. He was so strong. His muscles practically bulge out of his crisp white button up shirt.
“I feel fine,” you murmur, blinking nervously, “Just let me go home, Izuku.”
Your ribs rattle out a wheeze as you press your fingers into the meat of his well toned shoulders. Izuku smells good, really good. The hint of cologne that's melted into his skin and mingled with his sweat and musk lights your body aflame with desire. The urge to reach out and lick the throbbing vein on the side of his neck, getting a closer taste of him and his sweat crosses your mind. It’s frightening how commonplace it feels within your discombobulated thoughts, as if it were meant to be there.
“You’re burning up.”
Whatever else Izuku might have said falls on deaf ears as your brain zeroes in on the way his Adam’s apple bobs as he swallows. Your lashes flutter and your nails dig into his flesh as you will yourself to calm down. But, he’s hot, dangerously so. Izuku worsens the heat that laps at your belly and your cheeks. You feel as though you cannot breathe, each breath heavy and ragged as he speaks to some far away person over the phone.
“Izuku,” you whine, whatever was to come next spills off of your tongue in a needy little whimper as he presses the palm of his hand to your forehead.
Smoothing his rough hand over the curve of your cheek, he shushes you like a mother does a child, “Shh, you’re alright,” he coos, offering you a soothing caress, “Just remember to breathe, okay?”
Your eyes grow lidded as you lean into his touch. Each soft coo sends your mind deeper and deeper into the hole it's fallen in. The feel of him against you is almost too much for your quickly fading willpower. If not for the tiny, logical voice in the back of your skull screaming to remind you that the two of you were in public, you might’ve reached out to take a bite.
“Okay.”
You can’t remember what you were agreeing to, but the sigh of relief Izuku heaved made the pleasure centre of your brain light up in delight. It’s that measly, weak willed part of your brain that keeps you preoccupied with fantasies as heroes move all around you. Some of their voices are familiar, you think they must have stopped by to speak with your students but they’re not speaking to you. Everything is directed to Izuku who speaks in a harried manner, the worry evident in his tone. It doesn’t match the way he paws at your body or that thing poking at your thighs.
But, it’s his touch that grounds you and keeps you from losing it completely as the two of you are shoved in the back of an ambulance. The blaring sirens do little to keep this situation discreet, like you heard one of the heroes had requested. They’re sitting in the bay with you, their body a sea of orange, black, and green. Their rough, scraggly voice barks out frustrations to Izuku, to the paramedic, to the distant voice who rambles over speakerphone.
You squint at them and their jagged, pointy attire in vague recognition. They must have visited U.A. at some point, heroes were always brought in for some lesson or another.
“Kacchan, I’m fine!” Izuku’s voice squeals, you crane your neck just in time to catch him slapping the hero's hand away, “Their quirk didn’t hit me.”
“You know that's not how emitter quirks work, Deku,” ‘Kacchan’ gruffly barks out, “You’re getting looked at when we get to the hospital, end of discussion.”
“But-”
“End of discussion.”
Izuku wears a sheepish expression, his wide green eyes darting between you and the hero, “I was going to say, they’re quirkless and a civilian,” he says, “I’m worried.”
‘Kacchan’ barks out a laugh, “So are you, Deku.”
“It’s different.”
“Right you’re a special little boy, I forgot,” he sarcastically mutters, “Who somehow is immune to others' quirks, I almost forgot.”
You don’t have to look at Izuku to know he’s rolling his eyes, you could tell by the tone of his voice and the small huff that passes his lips. When his students asked for extensions an hour before the assignment was due, he’d roll his eyes and huff, but he always said yes.
“Yup, that's totally what I meant,” Izuku snips with a frown.
Your languid gaze settles onto his pink, freckled cheeks. His eyes are pointedly fixed to his shoes, shirking away from ‘Kacchan’s’ intense stare. The oxygen mask pinches uncomfortably at the bridge of your nose but your arm is strapped to the gurney, keeping you firmly in place. Izuku spares a quick flit of his eyes over your body before he returns to his avoidance. ‘Kacchan’ leers almost menacingly.
“Stop bein’ such a damn brat,” he barks, gripping Izuku by the chin, “Your face is all red and you’re sweating, this isn’t normal.”
Izuku’s cheeks are a ruddy red and puffed into a pout. His freckles spill out from between the other man's rough, calloused hands. A beat of silence passes between the two of them. It’s suffocating, the tensed air that fills the cramped ambulance bay. You should look away from them but they’re so wrapped up in this silent exchange that they wouldn’t even notice your intrusion. They weren’t noticing your long, tiresome stare or your wide eyes that flit between them.
“Fine.”
Izuku concedes surprisingly quickly.
He squirms in his seat, he must be embarrassed to be bossed around like that. You miss the quiver of his upper lip and the nervous sweat that breaks out on his brow. A low whisper is hissed between the two men, your hazed mind can’t even begin to make out what might’ve been said but it stirs a whimper like sound from your colleague. Wrenching the heroes hand from his face, Izuku sulks with a flush melting down his neck. The other man wears a smug, satisfied smirk— one where the corners of his lips curl upwards
The ambulance halts to a stop, hardly jostling them but it sends your head spinning. You have to squish your eyes shut to keep the ringing in your ears at bay. Somewhere between being pulled into the emergency room and being rushed into a private room, your consciousness fades. When it returns to you, you’re not in the sterile hospital room you imagined you’d be in.
You’re splayed across a plush couch, there’s a chunky knit throw wrapped around your legs and tucked up beneath your chin. The air is musky, filled with something warm and welcoming. It worsens the burn that itches your skin.
“Where am-”
“You’re awake, good,” a familiar voice chirps.
Izuku’s freckled face fills your vision, he wears a strained smile. His cheeks are ruddy and his skin is glistening with sweat. Perching himself on the arm of the sofa, he reaches forward to rest his hand on your ankle. His hand is scarred with rough skin that trailed up to his elbow, a memory of a past lifetime sealed within the confines of his youth. The feel of his skin against yours makes you jolt, skittering away from the explosion of heat that travels up your calf and snakes its way up your thigh.
“Izuku,” you pant, blinking at him as if he were some mirage that might soon disappear, “What happened? Where are we? Why aren’t we at the hospital, I remember being in an ambulance.”
Slinking into the plush cushion beside you, Izuku raises a hand, “Woah, slow down, I can explain.”
“The two of you got hit with a sex pollen quirk,” a gruff voice chimes in, heavy footfalls accompanying them, “End of story.”
“What?”
The hero from before materializes behind Izuku, no longer clad in his hero suit but instead a pair of soft grey sweatpants and a thin black muscle tank top. It’s a stark contrast to the messy suit that hangs off Izuku’s frame and the rumpled sundress you excitedly picked out to wear this morning. The spiked blonde hair and sharp, ruby eyes lined in smudged black were familiar but you couldn’t quite place where you knew him from.
“Kacchan do you always have to be so crass?” Izuku shrieks, “This is why you’re number fifteen because you refuse to use any of the media training we did in school!”
“Is that why I feel so … Funny?”
Your face burns with shame and embarrassment. While ‘Kacchan’ was reticent, the picture of nonchalance as he leaned against the sofa, his chest flush to Izuku’s spine.
“But, why are we here? Why aren’t we at the hospital?”
“There’s nothing they could do to reverse the effect of the quirks,” Izuku murmurs, gently caressing your ankle, “Kacchan offered a private place for us to wait it out.”
“I figured if you were going to fuck to get it out of your system, here was better than your lodgings at U.A.”
A shiver trickles down your spine, forcing you to curl into the corner of the sofa as confusion muddied your mind. ‘Kacchan’ snorted a laugh as you stared off in a mix of horror and confusion, “A sex pollen quirk?” You echoed, speaking to no one but yourself, “I thought those were just a trope in those bodice rippers to sell to lonely moms.”
“Apparently not,” Izuku winced, lightly elbowing his friend, “So now we’re here.”
“We’re here.”
You look around the room like a trapped animal in need of an escape.
“Sorry but, what is your name?” You question, your lips dipping into a frown, “If I’m going to be staying in your home until the quirk wears off, I should know your name.”
“If it wears off,” he mutters, eliciting another elbow to the gut and a shrill call of his name, “Whatever, the name’s Bakugō Katsuki or as you may know me, Great Explosion Murder God: Dynamight.”
You nod to show you’ve retained what he just said but the ripple of his muscles as he leaned over to shake your hand distracted you. Izuku bounces anxiously between you, chewing on his lip until the skin cracks and ichor tinges his tongue. The urge to lap it up swirls in your belly and you find yourself reaching forward and grasping at his slacks.
“Get it out of our systems,” you whisper, your mind stuck on Bakugō’s earlier words.
That damned smug smirk creeps onto his face once more, almost as if he was pleased by the situation before him. You had heard in passing of heroes wearing righteousness as a facade and enjoyed certain unsavory situations and chaos just as much as some villains did. You didn't think Izuke would have remained with someone who had such little honour but you could feel the smug satisfaction roll off  Bakugō in waves. It was as though he wanted this to happen.
“Mhm,” Izuku all but purred as he leaned closer to you.
Bakugō knotted his fingers into Izuku’s sweat dabbled, unruly curls pushing his head closer to yours until you felt his warm breath fanning across your lips. The hair on the back of your neck stands and your breathing grows laboured. All you could think about since joining the faculty back in April was him, what his tongue may taste like, and if he would moan in your mouth like he did in your dreams. It was wrong of you to want him so bad but your wanton, lust filled mind was begging you to take this chance to have him with no repercussions, and no regrets.
Your rumination came to an end as Bakugō pressed Izuku’s mouth to yours. A puppeteer relishing in his work, he snorts as you eagerly lap at Izuku’s mouth, pawing at his torso with wanton lust. His fingers are quick to tangle in your hair and grip the back of your neck. The feel of his rough, scarred skin against your tender, flush neck makes your body burst out into goosebumps which drives you closer to him in search of warmth in spite of the burning balm that’s settled over you.
Lucidity melts your mind further. The longer you’re awake, shaking off the fog and allowing the adrenaline to settle in, the more your desire grows. It’s spiralled out of control and your body acts without your mind's permission.
“Izuku,” you whimper into his lips, wrinkling his dress shirt between your fists, “Please… Give me more.”
Bakugō roughly pats your head, tussling your hair around as if he were trying to give you a noogie, “Don’t you worry, Deku here is a good boy, he’ll give you what you need.”
Izuku moans into your mouth, his body reacting to his friend's words. His hands tremble as they curl into the nape of your neck. You take the opportunity to slip your tongue into his mouth, lapping at his molars and gums to memorize every inch of his kiss and the way he tastes, if gum or some other thing might cling to his teeth.
“Oh that’s it, atta boy,” Bakugō barks, his rough fingers tug at the roots of your hair as if to guide your tongue further into Izuku’s mouth.
Your eyes flit open on their own accord, perhaps to peer into Bakugō’s. They’re a dark shade of red, his pupils large and imposing as they peer, fixated on the sloppy slip and slide of your tongue against Izuku’s. They press close soon after they meet Bakugō’s for but a moment, forced by the nervous thrum of your heart that rises when he notices your staring.
Izuku notices the stall in your movements and the sloppy slip of your tongue, “Hey,” he coos against your lips, “Are you okay?”
You nod a bit, not minding the way your head knocks into his. You’re all but about to crawl out of your skin. Discomfort and discontent with being watched like a bug pinned beneath a microscope, sharp and calculating eyes dissecting your every move as if they determine your worthiness for his best friend. Oh, but the haze that clouded your mind and soaked through your panties kept you glued to the soft sofa and Izuku’s warm embrace, searching for something to quell the overwhelming, wanton need that choked your delicate throat.
Izuku tosses a spare glance over his shoulder to Bakugō, calculating and sizing the man up, “Kacchan do you mind?” He murmurs, it's less of a request and more of a statement but you’re unsure what it’s meant to mean.
Their eyes catch for a moment, a million words silently pass between them. They speak a language you can’t understand but the incessant throbbing in your cunt keeps the insecurity from eating away at you.
“He can stay if you want,” you whisper, your voice a stranger to your ears.
“Kacchan’s gonna leave,” Izuku’s voice is clipped as his emerald green eyes slide back to gaze into yours, “Isn’t that right?”
The two pause for a moment, a beat passing between them. The weight of their history is heavy in the air, tension palpable. You attempt to squirm away, to put some space between you and Izuku but his calloused hands keep you pinned firmly between him and the sofa. Your clit throbs with need, no amount of discomfort could cloud the fact that you found his strength immensely attractive.
“I was?”
The heat that emanates from between their exchanges burns you. Lapping at the tops of your thighs and licking your belly. You feel it deep within you, the staunch, growing need that’s driving you half mad. Whatever history laid between them, however complicated and rich, mattered not. How could it, when heady desire so thick laid itself over your feeble body?
“You wanna kiss him?” You murmur to neither man in particular, squishing your thighs together to quell the throb.
“No, angel,” Bakugō says, shoving his face over Izuku’s shoulder, “I want to kiss you, to know what you taste like.”
He leers at you in spite of the nervous glance his friend gives him but you pay it no mind. Your ego triples in its size, as does your fervent lust. You may not have cared enough to pay attention to the current hero ranks or the thriving celebrity culture, but you knew well enough to be flattered. Not just because anyone would want to be vied after by an affluent pro hero, but because Bakugō was stunning in his own right. Somewhere in the back of your mind, exists the pieces of him you’ve come across. Though mystified and shrouded by confusion, somewhere, he existed beyond the stretch of this one meeting.
“I know all about Izuku already.”
“Me?” You dumbly point to yourself, as if there were a fourth person in the room that he might have been conversing with.
He nods his head and the glint in his eyes feels predatory. You wither under his stare, fawning to him like a prey animal.
“Okay.”
The word is whispered and you have a feeling no matter what you said in that moment, it’d end with your mouth on his.
Bakugō’s body all but engulf’s Izuku’s frame. You had thought before that Izuku was large with well cared for muscles and thigh shoulders but his friend made him look small in comparison. With only a few extra inches of height to his name, Bakugō was big and burly, with muscles that tapered off into a surprisingly trim waist.
Izuku pouted as he was pressed in between the two of you, his neck bared as he cocked his head to the side to allow Bakugō some room, “Don’t be like that Deku,” he rasps against the shell of his ear, “You knew how I felt about them.”
The confession hangs heavily in the air but it doesn’t linger long. Bakugō presses a balmy, open mouthed kiss to Izuku’s jugular, the light highlighting the glint of his teeth as the nip at his freckled skin. A moan melts off Izuku’s tongue and that seems to satisfy both men. Bakugō crowds into your space, his nudge nudging yours.
You languidly blink at him, waiting for him to take what he wants. His rough, calloused fingers grasp the tip of your chin, his warm breath fanning across your lips. You find yourself leaning in, your lips brushing his, a small coquettish whimper sticking to the back of your throat.
“You don’t know how long I’ve wanted to know what you taste like,” his voice is surprisingly soft, it makes your heart skip a beat.
Bakugō takes his time with kissing you, as if he knows the moment this quirk wears off the only pieces of you he’d get to have are short glimpses in the halls of U.A. He smells of sweat and ash, tastes like a hot cinnamon heart candy. That must have been the flavour of gum he was chewing on in the ambulance. His tongue laps at your gums and flick over your molars as if searching for all the hidden pieces of yourself. If intimacy lay in the knowledge of one's body, Bakugō was skipping all the pretext that comes before such closeness. He kissed you like the two of you had been simmering on low for years, a shared heat enveloping you. Maybe those months felt like years for him as you only had eyes for Izuku.
You’re unsure who you touch as your hands explore the expanse of clothed shoulders and biceps. The tickle of hair brushes your skin but the dizzying warmth shrouds your ability to discern the who and the wear. Both men were all over you, all at once. Izuku, nuzzling himself into you, sweet kisses pressed to your collarbones and sternum. He stroked the side of your abdomen, sneaking his fingers beneath your dress shirt. This morning, you had woken up extra early to iron your shirt in the hopes of looking nice. The fabric was now crumpled and soaked with sweat, the cuffs dabbled with blood from when you fell.
Bakugō’s lips are red and kiss bitten when he pulls away, swiping his thumb along the length of his bottom lip, he grins at you, satisfied with himself.
With a whine, you roll your hips against Izuku, searching for stimulation.
“What’s wrong?” He coos, his brow furrowed as he cups his cheek.
A haggard breath leaves your chest, “I’m so hot,” you all but squeal, “And needy it, I need you Izuku please.”
“You heard them, they need you, Deku.”
Izuku freeze’s for a moment, his face flush and hot. If he had some sort of emitter quirk you’re sure he’d be spitting flames from his cheeks, “Need me where, sweetheart?”
Cupping his hand with your own, you guide it between your legs. The thick tweed fabric of your slacks is uncomfortably wet with your arousal. The press of his hand to your cunt feels near euphoric, you can’t help the wanton moan you release. Izuku needs no further instruction as he flicks open the top button of your pants and begins to peel them down your hips. Your underwear is pulled down your thighs and bunched up, tossed somewhere in the living room with your socks and shoes.
Izuku moans when your spread your legs to give him space, his bottom lip squished between his teeth, “Fuck, your so…” He trails off, blinking a bit.
“Your cunt is perfect,” Bakugō finishes for him, sprawling across Izuku’s shoulders.
Bakugō roughly gropes Izuku’s erection through his dress pants, his free hand threads itself in his unruly green hair and pushes his head towards your throbbing cunt. Your eyes roll into your skull when the tip of his nose brushes against your aching clit. Your fingers tangle with Bakugō’s as you grip the roots of Izuku’s hair.
“Please,” you beg, twitching your hips upwards, “Lick my pussy, please Izu’.”
Izuku makes for an obedient puppy. In another life, one without such ambition, he might’ve made a good soldier with how well he took orders from you. His tongue lolled out to kitten lick your cunt, his green eyes peering up at you in concern. They shut quickly as he loses himself in your taste, groaning into you as he slurps up every last drop of your thick, sticky arousal that gushes from your cunt.
Bakugō wastes no time in unbuckling Izuku’s belt, pushing his pants and briefs down his thigh. Your mouth grows dry at the sight of his cock, heavy, hairy, and twitching with need. Precum drips from the ruddy tip onto the fuzzy carpet but neither man pays no mind. His wrist snaps as he gives Izuku’s cock a languid stroke. The groans of pleasure are swallowed up by your pussy, the vibrations from his vocal chords making your head spin. The muscles in your tummy are pulled taunt as they’re wound up. The tension that settles in your shoulders threatens to tear you apart.
Your orgasm washes over you with a startling quickness but it isn’t enough. Your nails dig into Izuku’s scalp as you keep his mouth pressed to your cunt even if he’s choking on your squirt. It drips down the leather cushions of the sofa and it squeaks obnoxiously as your skin slides against it. Bakugō pulls Izuku closer to him by the hips, bringing you with him. His sweatpants are bunched around his hips, pulled down just enough for dick to sit over the waist band. Unlike Izuku’s thick, curly bush and freckled pelvis, Bakugō’s pale blond pubes blend in with his skin but you can tell that he’s kept it trim. Trickling from beneath his belly button, his sparse happy trail guides your eyes to his cock. It’s thin and long with a bruised bulbous tip that leaks when he gives it a firm squeeze at the base.
With lidded eyes, you watch with intrigue when Bakugō spits on Izuku’s ass, rubbing it around his asshole with his thumb.
“Katsuki…” Izuku murmurs from between your thighs, “Are you gonna…?”
Bakugō silences him by pushing his mouth back into your cunt and like the obedient little runt he is, he latches his lips to your clit. Pressing the tip of his dick to Izuku’s eager hole, Bakugō stifles a grunt behind a wicked grin. It’s difficult to focus on one thing and how can you, when Izuku’s thick fingers prod at your weeping hole and he’s moaning like a whore with tears in his eyes as Bakugō splits him in half with not a moment of reprieve. It's sloppy, the way Izuku fingers your cunt, slick and squirt squelching loudly like an erotic symphony.
“Come on now, don’t slow down now” Bakugō chides, the hem of his muscle tank inching up his stomach as he snaps his hips into Izuku, “Be good now and put your mouth to use.”
Somewhere in the alphabet soup of your pleasure addled mind, you manage to string together a sentence, “You’re so mean to him,” you whine, writhing in Izuku’s hold, “Izu is so nice an’ he smells like sage.”
“He likes it,” he chuckles, leaning over Izuku’s back to peck your lips, “Would you rather I be mean to you?”
You try to shake your head but another orgasm hits you and you’re forced to gulp down a few breaths before you can attempt to speak. The two men call your name in synchronized echoes like hymns of worship bouncing off stone temple walls.
“No, just play nice with us.”
Izuku’s nails bite into the fat of your hips as he uses you for stability, his head bobbing like he’s brainless, “Shh, it’s okay sweetheart,” he murmurs, resting his cheek on your hip, “Kacchan is all bark.”
His chin is shiny with your spend, it’s dripped down his neck to soak into the collar of his shirt. Your body prickles with shame but it’s nothing in comparison to the snarly beast of want that claws at your chest, begging for more than just fingers and tongue.
“I wish he’d bite me instead.”
The two laugh, there’s a knowing look again, that look in the eye that makes your eyes flit away from the intensity, “I do if asked nicely.”
Blood prickles at the surface of your skin when Bakugō picks up the pace, roughly slamming his cock into Izuku’s poor battered hole. You’re almost mesmerized how his cock flops uselessly against his tummy with each deep thrust. His nails leave raised streaks in your skin that stirs something exciting in your chest. Your name is said like a prayer as Izuku cums, his cock twitching as his cum pools atop the carpet.
Somehow, Izuku’s cock becomes even stiffer, standing to attention in search of the warmth of human touch. Bakugō kisses the nape of his neck, whispering something to Izuku as he buries his cock into his ass.
“Sweetheart, can I…. I want to… no,” Izuku starts and stops himself like he’s talking to his boss. Beating around the push, unsure of how to make his request palatable, “Can I please fuck you?”
The soft, nervous lilt of his voice makes your cunt throb, you nod before you can choke out a “Yes,” breathed and painted with excitement, “Yes please, please I need you inside of me.”
Untangling himself from Bakugō’s reach, Izuku pushes you deep into the plush of the sofa. He wears a timid smile that threatens on wild. The apples of his cheeks are flush, you can’t help but reach up to pinch them, your thumb smoothing along his scar dappled skin. Pushing some of your sweat damp hair away from your forehead, Izuku settles between your thighs.
“You’re so pretty, sweetheart,” he whispers to you like hes confessing a secret, giddy and drunk off the feeling, “How are you so pretty, so perfect?”
His question goes unanswered because he presses the slick tip of his cock to your cunt, sliding it between your sticky folds, “Hurry up!” You bark, simpering when you realize the tone of your voice is scarily demanding and petulant, “I can’t wait any longer, please.”
Caressing the side of your face, Izuku coos at you a soft apology with a kiss to placate your nerves. He’s far slower than Bakugō, who paid no mind to taking his time in stretching Izuku out. The fat head of his cock presses inside your pulsing hole and sits there for a moment as your chest heaves from the mind numbing stretch. Bakugō saunters around the other side of the sofa standing where your head hangs off the arm. His dick stares directly at you, a taunting treat that is just begging for you to take a bite.
Your jaw falls slack and your tongue follows suit. Izuku takes it as an invitation to kiss you, clumsily like it was his first. He’s eager and all over you, the snap of his hips jaggad and haggard.
“So pretty,” he whispers into your waiting lips, “I can’t believe I get to fuck you, I like you so much.”
You think you hear Bakugō chuckle. If he does, it's hidden but the wet squelch of his cock as he fists it over your faces. Either way, you’re too distracted by the operative word Izuku uses, “like”, you wanted it to be love. It’d only been a few months since you met him but you think you might’ve loved him the moment you laid eyes on him. You wanted him to love you too, to want more than just fevered kisses in the midst of an aphrodisiac fueled bacchanal. But that was asking too much, you wanted too much. You were greedy and wrought with selfish desire. And you couldn’t breathe.
Pulling at the buttons of your dress shirt, your pluck at the fabric until it gives way. The tepid air feels heavenly on your sweat slick skin for but a moment before you’re shrouded by the heat of two bodies. Bakugō slots his cock between your two open mouths and you suckle on the long throbbing vein to pacify your bleeding heart. Izuku’s tongue slides against yours, laving over Bakugō’s length as he pumps into you.
Warmth spreads in your abdomen and spills down your thighs. It bites at the edge of your vision, stars and bits of black swimming along until your consciousness fades. Sleep greets you like an old friend. It cradles your head and swaddles you in a cocoon of comfort. Your anxieties and that horrid pit in your stomach fade away with the sweet dreams that visit you.
You’re unsure how long you slumbered for but when you awake, the room was bathed in the golden glow of morning. There’s a grey duvet tucked up to your chin, it smells of laundry detergent and musk. Your bare body is battered, sore to the bone with bruises littering your thighs and hips. Rubbing the sleep from your eyes you survey the room. It’s barren and hardly lived in, if it weren’t for the pile of clothes hanging off the wicker basket hamper in the corner of the room.
“Good morning, sleepyhead,” Izuku’s cheerful voice rings out, he peers around the doorway with a tray of food, “How are you feeling?”
Your throat is dry, the words stick to the sides of your esophagus, “I feel…” You rasp, shaking your head, “Fine, how are you?”
Izuku offers you a smile, “I’m alright,” he offers you the tray, there’s a glass of water and a bottle of Advil, “Here, you should drink up.”
When you make no movement to grab the glass, Izuku plucks two pills from the bottle and brings the water towards your lips. Pressing the medication to your mouth, you swallow it down with his quiet instruction. He coos small praises into your ear, the way he does with his students. Your stomach flips with nerves as flashes of yesterday come rushing back.
Before you can speak the ensuite door flies open, a plume of steam coming with it. Bakugō stands in the doorway in nothing but a pair of loose gym shorts, toweling off his short spiky hair.
“Hey.”
“Hi.”
“Kacchan!”
Silence fills the space uncomfortably.
“Did you tell them yet?” Bakugō says, nodding towards you.
“Tell me what?” Your kiss bitten lips ache but you chew on them anyways.
Izuku shakes his head, “No,” he mutters, “They just woke up.”
“Tell me.”
“No.”
Bakugō huffs through his nose, his gaze cutting through you as he pins down Izuku with his eyes,“They deserve to know.”
“To know what?”  Anxiety bubbles in your belly. The pills that sit at the back of your throat threaten to make a reappearance. Blood coats your tongue as you split the skin of your lips. You think you know what they might say. It was all a mistake, likened to a drunken affair between a married man and a spring flower, decades younger, still in bloom.
“That we both have feelings for you.”
Oh.
And suddenly, those pesky wants of yours didn’t feel so far away. You didn’t feel so hard to love or desire. But, the thought of it stole your breath. It prickled you with anxiety and fears akin to not enough.
All you could say was, “Oh.”
Because whatever you felt for Izuku had no name and if it did, you weren’t sure such a word existed in Japanese nor English. And Bakugō, the guilt crept up for all the things you didn’t feel or couldn’t. Maybe you did feel something, not flattery but something concrete that pushed its way through the thick heat of desire that made you act so foolishly. You thought maybe he was just stroking your ego, that wanton lust to know the taste if another could be just that, lust. No feelings that were any deeper than a kiddy pool.
One of them calls your name, but it all sounds like static.
“And here I thought it was all in my head.”
And maybe it was. Maybe you were still dreaming.
You think that might be it until Izuku surges forward to kiss you long and hard. Your head is filled with the same intoxicating rush. The quirk must not have been as strong as you thought after all.

Random Duke Thomas Headcannons pt 2
I think Duke and Bao (Clownhunter) would be childhood friends.
Bao and Duke both grew up in the Narrows. I imagine Duke meet him at Bao's parents pho restaurant and dragged him off to play together.
The two would run through the steets, play tag with the other Narrows kids, do their homework, which at that age was mostly just colouring in, in a cornor seat at the restaurant.
When Zero City happened, Bao's family would move in to the apparentment block with Duke's family and others. It was that point when their relationship chnaged from friends to brothers.
They were attched to each other. Duke took it upon himself to be the older brother (dispite only being a year older). He would tell Bao to do riddle while he went out to get fish, no matter how much the other protested (or how much he was scolded when he got home). Bao use to pretend to be more scared than he really was so he could stay with Duke, hoping to protect him a bit.
So their bond grows, as they start middle school they don't hang out as much being in different grade but are always together at lunch. They get into petty fights, play video games together, were general hooligan(/aff) on the streets.
Then Bao's parents we killed by Joker. He started living with his aunt and uncle, Duke and his parents would bring food around, mostly as an excuse for Duke to just sit with him. In the grief, Bao closed himself off, stopped responding to Duke's messges, stopped going to school, stopped leaving the house.
Duke tried to keep contacting him, he would show up at his house, force Bao to sit with him and do his online school homwork while Duke did his, like when they were kids in the restaurant. That stopped by Joker got Duke's parents too.
Duke got washed away in the foster system, in being Robin, in becoming Lark and later Signal, in joining the Outsiders.
The Joker War started, Bao became Clownhunter, was washed away in his bew found duty to finally stop the Koker how Batman never could.
They almost naturally just stopped talking.
Until, while waiting for Jay to be able to take custody of him, Bruce sent him to Gotham Academy.
There was Bao again. The first thing they did was fight. They were both mad at each other for abandoneding the other. A few hours later they made up. Dispite not talking for so long, they were best friends, more than that, brothers.
They caught each other up if their lives, keeping the vigilante business out. They started messaging each other regularly. Duke would fight the people who builied Bao, the two spending a few afternoons in detention because of it. They would just sit with each other, happy to be in each others space.
Bao joined Batman incorporated which caused Clownhunter and The Signal to finally meet.
After taking down Professor Pyg's operation, some of the Batkids, lncluding Signal, arrived for clean up. Clowerhunter knew about the Signal, he was Gotham's hero. Signal knew about Clownhunter, he'd read the file Batman had on him. When they saw each other they immediately understood who was under the mask.
There wasn't a chance to talk that night, they didn't want to reveal each others identifies to the other vigilante's and Ghostmaker had an argument with Nightwing, quickly ending Batman Incorporated's time in Gotham.
They meet the next night, in costume, on the roof of their old apprentment building. Once they shared during Zero Year. Not much was said, Duke didn't mention the people Bao had killed, Bao didn't mention him joining the Batfamily. However, they understood each other mor now. Not much needed to be said. Duke gave him a Signal beacon, a promise to help if Bao ever needed. Bao gave the same sentiment. The two parted ways again.
They knew at that point they were closer than ever, dispite being so far apart. They had their own paths to follow but they felt more secure now knowing they had family in the hero community who will help them in any way.

The Cardinal Lifeblood
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Had this cooking ever since I saw a post months back about the possibility of Blaze having a rival like how Sonic does with Shadow.
So here is my take on Sol’s little underwater facility secret: The Cardinal Lifeblood—Blink the Cat
I’ve written a little backstory for them below if it interests anyone, heh
Blue was the first color Blink had ever seen. It surrounded them in every direction. There was never a sky full of stars to sleep under, nor was there ever the bright light of the morning sun to wake to. The ocean was all they ever knew. That and their purpose.
When Blink was allowed out of their chamber for the first time, their bare paws touched cold tile, their coat heavy with the liquid they’d been soaked in since their creation dripping into a puddle on the floor. Their creator looked them in the eye with an expression of awe. Blink hadn't been the first attempt in creating a perfected form of life. Blink’s creator, Director Enid Leclair had worked her entire professional career to achieve what she had only ever believed to be an unreachable dream, but when her efforts had paid off the moment those eyes opened to reflect hers, she knew she’d made history for the entirety of Sol.
The Cardinal Lifeblood breathes.
A sentient creature, one that could speak, listen, and perform. Stronger than any battery created— Blink was the newest battery to power The Keel, a facility deep below Sol’s oceans, the pinnacle of human advancements in science and engineering that resided on the seabed. It was comparable to that of an underwater city, untouchable like the myths in a storybook. It was the home to Sol’s many scientists, majority of them shunned by society for their participation and fascination with bioengineering. It was here that these individuals were tasked by Director Enid Leclair in creating a power source strong enough to maintain the entire system keeping The Keel running. They called it Operation Nightlight.
Blink’s DNA was composed of pure concentrated Sol Energy, taken from traceable remnants left behind in the aftermath of battles where the Sol Emeralds were used. It had taken years to develop what would become Blink, their DNA a complex code made from genetic engineering specialists. The prototypes before Blink had never developed appropriately, many never exceeding past stage three. After Blink was announced as the first to succeed, Operation Nightlight allowed The Keel of Seabed Enterprises to bloom into a large-scale production of new scientific discoveries and weaponry.
Blink was never allowed above the water’s surface for the years they were made to stay in The Keel. During their time in the facility they were trained daily to have control over their battery-like abilities, given pressure balancing rings to wear around their wrists called Venting Valves. They help Blink in maintaining normal levels of electrical activity within their body, that way they do not become so overwhelmed that they might explode. Blink received homework to educate them about what was above the ocean, and they were also taught defensive tactics in combat drills. They were often made to practice swimming outside The Keel to build up their endurance and focus, with their body able to withstand the water pressure so far down it also became Blink’s task to dislodge or fix any problems affecting The Keel’s outer shell that the humans couldn't do on their own.
Life on The Keel wasn’t much better, but Blink had grown used to being treated as a tool. The scientists and workers that walked the halls were never too friendly with Blink; some ignored the cat completely. Director Enid was the only human who’d ever cared to speak with Blink like an actual person. Blink and Enid had a close relationship, one could say Enid was Blink’s mother from how she always asked Blink for their opinions on things or asked how she was— even the gifts Enid brought from the surface world to give to Blink were indicative of how much she cared for the feline. Blink might’ve felt alone and ostracized upon The Keel, but with the Director they felt at home.
Until home was taken away.
The Keel of Seabed Enterprises had been infiltrated. Blink had no clue what they could do, but upon seeing Enid being dragged down the hallway by what looked to be Sol’s imperial armed forces, the cat could do nothing but look on in horror. Enid had shouted something before she disappeared from sight, “I’ll be with you when the Sun rises, dear. I promise.”
And so Blink left behind the bodies of scientists and engineers, departing from The Keel and rising from the sea floor higher than they’d ever been. When they reached the surface of the rippling waves, they witnessed their first experience of the sky, took in their first breath of Sol’s air, and heard the sound of seagulls flying overhead.
They saw their first sunrise.
Alone at sea.

2024 Book Review #54 – The Design of Everyday Things by Don Norman
Tumblr media
I try to read a piece of somewhat respectable nonfiction every month or so, which means I’m always vaguely on the lookout for titles that seem interesting and which aren’t either inspiration porn or just some random New Yorker’s collection of personal essays. I first heard of Design in an editorial in a local paper, which described it as a ‘seminal read’ – the basic conceit and title both seemed interesting so I through it on the list and, however many months later, finally got around to read with it. It was interesting, but altogether a more dense and technical read than I was at all prepared for when I picked it up.
The book is about what it says on the tin – looking at the processes and practices of industrial design and how it can be best applied to create useful, pleasurable tools. It is very much written for an assumed audience of at least interested amateurs or casual practitioners, with lots of specific practical tips and guidelines for the working designer to apply to their own projects. For the same reason it isn’t at all shy about the jargon or business-school models and charts.
Design, from the book’s perspective, covers an extremely broad field – everything from the physical structure of a tool to the systems and procedures that should be followed for its safe operation to the aesthetics and layout that give the most enjoyable and frictionless user experience handling it. The book considers its principles equally applicable to designing physical products and bureaucratic systems, and is mostly even convincing as it says so. That said, it absolutely assume that whatever is being designed is being designed by a large, multi-team project with budgets and stakeholders, and designed for sale on the private market, both of which do shape the advice given quite clearly (the entire final part of the book is about ‘designing in the real world’ and about these exact conditions).
The prose is written with the precise tone and cadence of an above-average but not great professor giving a long, rambling lecture that illustrates every single point with a tangential personal anecdote – though my mind may only jump to that comparison because that’s basically what this is in book form. It is not, being honest, ever exactly gripping or a page-turner; this was probably the book whose reading felt most like homework of any I’ve opened so far these year. Something not at all helped by the fact that the field of industrial design does the same thing as every other slice of academia and redefines a bunch of very common nouns to be very precise and occasionally very counterintuitive terms of art (though in fairness the book could have been much worse about this).
That aside, I did find the jargon mostly helpful, in terms of clarifying and separating out concepts. The distinction between capabilities (what a given device can be used for) and signifiers (the implicit or explicit ways a device presents itself to be used) is useful and pretty easy to keep in my head, for example.
The initial chapters of the book are primarily about the theory and best practices of designing specific, physical things – for example, how it represents a shameful failure for a door to ever require a sign or instructions on how it should be opened. This was probably the roughest part for me to get through, just because I felt like I should be taking quizzes or filling out worksheets to make sure I remembered everything correctly as I went – the sections get dense. It was fascinating reading to bludgeon through though, if only as a collection of the most practical insights yet provided by the study of human psychology. None of the best practices and recommendations given – never require the user to input more than a few commands without feedback or guidance, map the layout of controls to correspond to the physical ordering of the things they control, mechanical commands should feel like they have some sort of intuitive relationship to their effect, that sort of thing – exactly blew my mind, but it was helpful to see them laid out. Also interesting how much a lot of them contrast so strongly with the minimalist, ‘clean’ aesthetic which actually governs the design of so much these days.
The sections on mistakes and accidents were probably the most interesting and compelling in their own right. Maybe because I found the examples more intuitive, or maybe just because industrial accidents and airline disasters are more attention-grabbing examples than confusing and inefficient light switch layouts. In any case, the typology of mistakes versus errors (basically: whether you are trying to do the wrong thing, or trying to do the right thing and just failing in execution) and their subcategories seem genuinely quite useful, as do the various meditations on how to make both types less common.
This is also the section that has stuck with me in the most detail, if probably just because it seems like it might have some direct relevance to day-to-day life. Most especially the idea that focusing on how to assign fault or blame is the most useless possible thing to do when trying to investigate an accident – it only makes everyone motivated to hide any involvement they might have had, and lets you stop thinking about it as soon as you decide who is responsible without ever digging into the actual causes of the mistake. ‘Human error’ is, in Norman’s view, a mirage – if people are making dangerous or expensive mistakes at any appreciable rate, then that is axiomatically a failure of the systems which should be supporting and guiding them.
The fact that airline disasters are drastically overrepresented in the case studies used because the investigative infrastructure for them is uncommonly (almost bizarrely, really) well-designed and diligently maintained in the US is also just a fun bit of a trivia.
The third part of the book is about the actual process of designing something in a large organization. Perhaps unsurprisingly, this is mostly about bureaucratic politics and navigating frictions between, say, the design and marketing teams – the offered distinction that design is about making things that are useful and good whereas marketing’s input on the process is ensuring it is something that people will be willing to buy is pithy and memorable, if perhaps one that people on the marketing team might not be entirely happy with. This, along with terms like ‘the double-diamond design process’ and the oft-repeated saying that ‘the day a project starts it’s behind schedule and under budget’, and the gratuitous use of Japanese, all left me with the uncanny feeling of walking into an MBA seminar.
This is in fact an extremely famous and successful book – I know, because this is a heavily revised second edition, and the new material never missed a chance to say so. Having come out in 2013, the updated material – overwhelmingly about software UX, the internet, and smartphone design, because of course it is – is already somewhat charmingly outdated. The additions did include a long and very interesting section on changing standards, standardization, and when it is or isn’t worth the massive disruption involved (including a fascinating if probably not entirely trustworthy digression into the history of the QWERTY keyboard), so on the whole I’m happy I got this edition rather than the original from the ‘80s.
Overall, not a book I’m likely to open again anytime soon unless I end up making a dramatic change of careers, but interesting enough that I don’t regret reading it.

I spoke to my colleague at work via FaceTime for about an hour today. Corporate America as a system is rotting - the Retail industry is a mess and AI is going to make it even messier. The corporate side of everything, particularly technology in these huge conglomerations - it's all falling apart. It BARELY works as a system.
I think the real health could potentially be found in small businesses and for sure the trades - if I had kids, I'd be giving the opposite push my parents gave me. Go to a four year college I guess if you want the experience, it's good for some stuff - but the mandatory experience I'd require as a parent is learning a trade. Be an electrician, a dry waller, a plumber, learn how to build a house. become a great sewer or an expert in landscape gardening for your hardy zone. Fix engines. Know how to operate heavy machinery. The CONFIDENCE people have as they master a trade is evident. Apprentice in a few but pick the one that you want to get so good at, you'll do it for a few years. That's where the steady money is, the respect for work, the freedom of schedule. The unions which are fantastic (most of the time.) Maybe photography but everyone's a photographer these days. They are such confidence builders and the demand is outrageous. It's honorable work though defining which work is honorable or not feels a little gross. It’s just work.
I should give this advice to myself.
I spent the rest of the day working on my taxes. I have to fill out these tax forms for long-term disability so sent some stuff to my tax person to see if she could help - she's retiring in November so I was nervous if she would be up for it, I didn't know how complicated it would be. Turns out it's complicated, I pretty much need to get all of the stuff ready for my tax return now. The upside is that I'll essentially know what my taxes will be next year which will be good for me mentally, that's always a super stressful time for me for some reason. She gave me a lot of homework to do which took several hours with my foggy brain, I pretty much did it laying in my bed with food positioned on my chest occasionally like George Castanza eating a block of cheese on the sofa. Food is still a little gross but the nausea from not eating is grosser.
Next week, I don't have a lot of appointments. Bud has her vet appointment for her heart and then she has a dentist appointment the week after that on the same day I get my first post chemo infusion, I have to drop her off in the morning, poor thing. My friend A will be here in the event I'm not back from the appointment, it's just two hours but it's at noon so she can go fetch her if needed, the vet is literally across the water channel, a 5 minute walk. So fortunate. Then we'll know what's going on with her. I hope she's OK.

Octavious sighed as he leaned back into his chair. He tapped his fingers against the table, inpatient. His arms were already getting antsy, moving around, opening and closing. He looked around the empty warehouse, the walls, floors, and ceiling all covered with mold and dust. The 2 door entrance was barely an entrance, as the left door was almost completely rusted off, making a shriek when he had to pry it open. The place was perfect for an overnight meeting with Martin to deliver him his cloaking device… if he were to show up on time.
He was already making a move to call Martin to tell him the meeting was off when there was a light passing by the window in the night, and he heard a car roll to a stop near the entrance. Within a few moments, Li and his guards sauntered into the room, and he took a seat on the other edge of the table.
“Good to see you, my friend.” He introduced, “I apologize for being late. Traffic, you know?”
Octavious was in no mood. He just wanted to get back and see you, and make sure you did your homework that he had assigned for you. And to tuck you into bed. One of his arms pulled out the device, which looked like a dash cam, and dropped it into his palm. “I’ve made it easy to control: the only thing is that the device will need to be manually operated. This button on the side turns it on, and, I’ve computed it to include various models and persons so that if you just need cover, then you don’t have to be invisible all the time.” He placed the device in the middle of the table, letting Li pick it up and inspect it.
“Thank you, my friend.” He looked back to Octavious, “By the way, were you still working on that ‘override’ project?”
Octavious raised a brow, and felt his arms start to stray. He pulled them back, “Yes, I have completed it. Why do you ask?”
Li shrugged a bit, putting the cloaking device in his pocket. “I’m planning a few heists in the next few weeks- it would help cause less frustrations in getting them set up.”
When Octavious didn’t answer, he added on, “A favor for a favor, then?”
This was taking too long. His arms were starting to become more and more impatient, reaching out and twitching. “No, that won’t be needed. Here,” he pulled out one of his chips, along with a tablet. He slid the chip over the table over to Li, and the table lit up.
“You may borrow it- maybe indefinitely depending on how many I am able to make. And don’t think about taking it, as I have all of them tracked.”
He placed the screen on the table, letting Martin look at every single one he had currently, most of them back at his base. He opened a side table from the GPS map, showing different uses and how it forms keys and cards and everything in between. His arms were whirring down at the tablet, but he ignored them, thinking it was just them being impatient about seeing you again.
“As you can see, depending on where and how you use it, it can serve a multitude of factors, not just opening doors, but creating system failures, hacking databases and-”
It was finally then that his arms started to do their little movements towards the tablet while he was talking with Li. Before he could make them retreat, he noticed what they were looking at. Almost all of the little red dots of the override chips were all at his base: except one, which was moving down different streets and alleys, much farther than his base. He picked up the tablet watching it move away from most of the other dots.
Li chuckled seeing Octavious be stumped. “I thought you were very overprotective of your projects, Doctor?”
He couldn’t understand. Was it a bug? In his technologies? Every genius has their flaws, he knew, but it wouldn’t make sense. He had built every single one of them differently, and had made sure there were no imperfections. But then that would mean someone had taken it and ran off with it. That was impossible, he reasoned, as the only person at the base right now is-
Oh. Oh, dear.
His arms, either reading his thoughts or realizing the same time he did, started to move around uncontrollably, writhing to get him out, to get to the base. No, he rationed, if they aren’t the ones who had taken it, then they would still be at the base safe and sound. If someone had come to steal the chips, they would’ve taken all of them.
When he stood up, pushing the chair all the way to the wall with the force, Li stood up as well. “I assume you must catch your runaway chip, then?”
Octavious was already climbing up to the wall, with the windows broken, breaking a few more so he could pass through. “Don’t you dare loose that chip, Li.” He called out, before he jumped away, moving in a frenzy to chase after you, ignoring whatever Li had said back.
---
When you escaped, you didn't really know where to go. His lair that he had was underneath a river, and while you thought it would be a nightmare to get out of, you guessed the door that you had found from that corridor was the easiest way out since it led you all the way up to some alleyway. You realized that, yes, you probably were under the Hudson River because you could see it running downstream when you had reached the top.
However, that didn’t matter to you. You hadn’t seen the moon in a long while, and it was a full one. Just your luck. You knew that Octavious would be busy with whatever he was doing in his lab, so you weren’t worried about him finding out until the early hours of the morning.
You were not lucky, however, in knowing where to go. You didn’t really know the area around the river well, especially in the dark, where you couldn’t see anything. Hiding in the alleys and running through the abandoned buildings didn’t help either.
There was no one around, and while you had thought about it, calling out for help probably wouldn’t do you any good. So, instead, you kept going, hoping that you could find an exit to the dark labyrinth soon.
As the moon got higher, and you could no longer hear the river run, you had slowed your pace, speed walking down streets and roads. Your feet hurt by now, but you trudged on, hoping to find someone eventually.
While walking, you pulled the rectangular chip from your pocket. It looked useless, besides that one hole in the wall. It was strange, because you never saw that hole in the wall before. You had scoured up and down that apartment, especially the doors, trying to find a way out. But there was nothing, at least when you looked. Looking at it more closely, the chips weren’t in the same spot as they were. In fact, as you moved around more, they kept changing, morphing into different things. Some looked like actual keys, others motherboards, and some just kept changing geometric shapes. It was constant, but subtle.
You had never noticed that. You were so busy watching them change shape and morph that you almost didn’t hear it. You turned your head, listening to some clanking noise. It was almost rhythmic if it didn’t sound frantic, almost like a car or truck. Maybe it was someone coming to pick something up from one of the buildings! You could get help from them, you thought.
You turned around, ignoring how your feet hurt, and ran towards the noise. You shoved the chip back into your pocket, and ran down the side of the building. The clanking noise was getting louder and closer, but it sounded… strange. Not like a truck or car kind of noise, where the shocks were holding large amounts of cargo, but more like a slamming of a metal pipe on the ground. You slowed your stop at the edge of the building, and peeked your head out, wondering what it was.
To your horror, just a few dozens of meters away, Otto was charging at you. You turned back, and started to run away, really praying that someone would find you now.
“_____!!” You heard him screech, which made you run even faster. You felt the ground shaking by now, and you could hear him push anything that was in his way away. “Get back here, NOW!!”
You kept running, hoping to get the hell away from him. You knew he was getting closer, and you could hear his arms becoming more hectic with every step they took. It made you run as fast as you could, hoping to outrun him, or to run into someone else. However, your luck ran out that night as you felt something slam into your side, and lift you up high into the air.
Catching your breath, you looked down and saw Otto, and he looked furious. The arm around your waist squeezed, making you yelp in pain. You went to say something, but he interrupted you, “Save it. For. Later.” He talked in between moving back towards the base, moving in large swift jumps of his 3 other arms.
While being held, he pulled you close to him, and while you thought he was going to hug you or slap you, instead he reached inside of your pocket and pulled out the rectangular chip that you had. “Hey, don’t-” you reached one of your hands out, trying to grab it from him, but he slapped your hand away.
“Save. It. And this-” he held up the chip, before putting it in his pocket, “Does not belong to you. You stole it.”
You rolled your eyes at that. “I did not-”
Otto stopped suddenly, making you jolt from being held. You grabbed onto the arm tightly, afraid of being dropped. He brought you very close to his face. “What part of save it do you not understand?” He gritted out. He was seething. You could see his eyes shake with anger, he was almost spitting out every word he said.
You decided that you had done enough, and you remained quiet. When you said nothing, he turned back to the road and continued going back to the base. For a short while, it was quiet. At least my feet aren’t hurting that much anymore.
Embarrassingly, you didn’t make it that far from the base based on how short the trip was back. This time, however, he brought you to a new entrance, one you didn’t even know was there. It was through a building, and then through a large pipe in the center of it. While you had thought it was the stupidest entrance ever, the multiple traps, cameras and security measures that he easily moved around or accessed proved it was not an easy way to get in. When he finally reached the bottom of the pipe, it brought you to a room that looked similarly to his lab. Except, it almost looked more evil. It was way bigger, and had tanks and monitors. Everything looked evil.
He walked (still using his arms) over to a large sphere, that looked like one of those Plasma balls you saw online. However, at the top, it had a little latch. He opened the latch, and unceremoniously dropped you in. You slid down the glass onto the floor of it, and you jumped to your feet just as he shut it and locked it. Looking around, it was literally just a fishbowl with a hole in the back.
You turned back to Otto, who was staring at you through the glass. He pressed his hand up against it, at your eye level.
“I am extremely upset with you.” He stated as he visibly tried to calm himself down. His voice sounded around the glass, like an echo. It really was like a fishbowl. “I don’t know or understand why you would run off like that- I know you are scared and frightened, but that is no way to treat your father.”
He had never referred to himself as such before. It took you by surprise, seeing him so… emotional. He started to walk away, even while you tried to say something, to say you were sorry, that you would never run away again. But he just turned around, and said, “I’ll see you in the morning. Think about your actions. We’ll have a talk in the morning.”
He walked out, and the lights turned off, leaving you sobbing in the darkness, alone and afraid.

i hope u like it doc ock anon, i made it with u in mind <3

Hazbin Boss: A Theory ⚠️ SPOILERS for “Full Moon” And “Apology Tour”!!!⚠️
I’m super curious if this is gonna end up with a crossover to Hazbin Hotel at some point.
First
I think Blitzø and I.M.P are going one of two ways.
1. After a week or so of Blitzø not having energy to do anything, I.M.P will crash for a while because…while he has everything he needs to make his business even more successful, it’s not even worth it because in the end since the visitation of him and Stolas is what kept it together. With his new revelations, he’ll refuse to use it out of guilt for using Stolas. If there’s no hope for them, there’s no hope for anything else. They’ll all need to get different jobs. Honestly, I can see Blitzø working at a fast food joint as a bitter employee or being a job hopper because he can’t find anything that really sparks him like, y’know, his own business. Maybe he’d lose everything and him and Loona would have no choice but to move in with Moxxie and Millie (to their own dismay), causing a kind of roommate sitcom dynamic. Despite their help and attempts to comfort, this is the lowest Blitzø has been in his life. They can’t help him. He’s entered his darkest depression.
He just stays glued to his phone on the couch until he sees a reminder of Stolas, has a mental breakdown, and then watches TV to distract himself.
OR
2. It’ll go the corporate route, partially (entirely) out of post-it’s complicated spite and a manic episode, Blitz DOES use the gem to boost his business. They’ll move out of that business complex and into a shiny new building. They’ll recruit more employees to receive bounties with a whole system, more hitmen, etc. Everything is changing for the “good of the company”, but really, it’s all a distraction from how Blitzø really feels. Like something is missing. Like Stolas is missing.
They have a grand reopening party and the OG crew watches Blitzø interacting with a bunch of other prospects and investors and realize it’s not that close knit family anymore. They don’t have anymore say on how things operate and they’ve become subordinates (I hate that word). He’d be pushing them away, maybe even to the point of resigning as well. This would nearly send Blitzø past the point of return. Having the same results as #1.
BUT THEN
They seem to be inching towards the same premise of forgiveness that makes up the basis of Hazbin Hotel. Maybe Blitzø will try therapy. But all of them in hell are too fucked up, so he uses his gauntlet to go to earth in disguise, see how fucked the US healthcare system is, making a bigger hitlist than ever before.
It splits again here. Either he’ll try one therapist for like two weeks and think he knows more than the therapist like people who can’t admit when they’re wrong seem to think.
OR
he’ll try a bunch of different therapists, none of them fit whether they talk too much or too little, give him homework, send him to a mental health institution where he promptly breaks out…when he finds a $ex therapist who has pride stuff everywhere, is LGBT and Kink affirming, asks him his pronouns, etc. (He did NOT know this was a thing). It goes well and he actually notices small changes.
BUUUTTTT just as things started going well, something happens to the gauntlet and he can’t get to the mortal realm.
Sometime after is when he sees Charlie’s commercial on the TV for the Hotel and finds his way to get help.
I ran out of hypothetical juice. I’ll repost if I come up with something, but I need FOOD.

Random memory.
I recently remembered a thing that happened in 7th grade.
I had a shitty teacher. She didn't like me much, and she had a sadistic way or two to operate. I had learning difficulties, home difficulties, and really, it was a frustrating time for all. Especially a system that demands a conformity and compliance from people that couldn't comply, and an attitude that you'll either comply, or be crushed.
If you have difficulty with the course material because you don't understand the lesson, you become a problem.
So, the teacher invited me up to sit beside them at their teacher's desk during class, allegedly because she was going to help me with it.
She proceeded to ignore me the entire class and prioritize others that came up to her desk, with me perpetually at attention, but forced to wait.
If I got up to go back to my desk, that would've kicked off protocols of her having a fit about me breaking some rule or being obstructive or, "not being patient." But she kept me strung along that entire class period and deliberately kept talking me down from going back to my desk and doing my homework (poorly.) I was incentivized to stay around in the hopes she'd actually help me with the problems. I had reason to comply, because I had something to gain out of it.
She knew that, and that was the point. Deliberately telling me to sit beside her in that time gated limbo where I couldn't do my classwork but she'd keep me waiting for help that wasn't going to come, was the point. It was dressing up that she wanted specifically to NOT help me, but keep me hoping that she would. Stuck in a situation where the only thing keeping me there was an arbitrary rule convention where I could be punished for giving up on her bad faith trick or comply with it and lose out on crucial time to do my work.
It was a double whammy, and a disgusting thing for a teacher to do.
Afterwards, she did it again. So I started crying in class. This confused the other students, who wondered why it was I was crying. No one asked why- not really. They largely found me annoying, or offputting. We had a talk, and I sussed out that it absolutely was meant as some form of unlabeled punishment for something. A bizarre ritual where someone summons another for a meeting and then blatantly ignores them throughout.
Incidences like these shaped how I relate to women. If a male teacher behaved this brazenly to students, they'd have been canned, if not given legal action. The feminists knew this behavior and double standard; they called it "justice." That a man would get punishment for something that gets memory holed and given a free pass when a woman does it. It's an abuse of power, it's an abuse of a students' time, it's an abuse of emotions and mind.
Don't call people up for meetings (from a position of power with implied punitive measures if they refuse or, having been ignored for half the class period, go back to their seat in frustration) and then deliberately ignore them while helping everybody else, instead of them.

A Shitty Recap of An Unearthly Child
For convoluted legal reasons, the very first episode of Doctor Who, An Unearthly Child, is unavailable for the public to screen (they cover the details here: https://www.ign.com/articles/why-the-first-four-doctor-who-episodes-ever-made-wont-be-on-bbc-iplayer ). So I’ll be recapping it with some screenshots here!
Tumblr media
[Image ID: The words “An Unearthly Child” superimposed over an image of a 1960s police box]
We open with a scene of a police officer walking through the mist, opening the gates to the Foreman Junkyard and passing by a Perfectly Average Police Box.
Cut to Coal Hill High School, where the bell has rung to signal the end of the day and we see our leads, BARBARA the history teacher and IAN the chemistry teacher.
Tumblr media
[Image ID: a man and a woman talking in a high school chemistry classroom. There is a chalkboard in the background]
BARBARA: We need to talk about Susan.
IAN: Susan?
BARBARA: You know, the fucking weirdo.
IAN: I do know, though when you put it like that-
BARBARA: Look, her grades are really high but her homework is shit, and when I went to go see where her home address is I ended up in a random junkyard.
IAN: Well, that could’ve been a typo in the school system.
BARBARA: Maybe, but when I went to go ask her about talking to her grandfather, she said that it would be absolutely impossible. For her only living relative, don’t you think that sounds a little-
IAN: Don’t!
BARBARA: Sus?
IAN: *sighs* Well, there’s probably some perfectly reasonable explanation for it.
BARBARA: I promised to go lend her a book, want to help me get to the bottom of it?
IAN: Sure.
Cut to SUSAN in another classroom, stimming!
Tumblr media
[Image ID: Susan standing in the foreground, holding a radio with one hand and drumming her fingers on her wrist with the other. Barbara and Ian are in the background]
BARBARA: I have that book about the French Revolution you wanted, Susan.
SUSAN: Oh, thanks! I’ll return it tomorrow.
BARBARA: You can return it when you’ve finished it.
SUSAN: I will have finished it by tomorrow :3
IAN: Nice Beatles tunes you’re listening to there.
SUSAN: Wow, I didn’t think you were young enough to know about the Beatles.
IAN: Listen, student of mine, I was just about to give Barbara a ride home, and I’ve got extra room in my car if you want a lift.
SUSAN: Umm, you know what, I think I’d rather walk home in the dark. That has spookier vibes. Yeah.
BARBARA and IAN exit the room. We hold on SUSAN, who starts flipping through her book.
Tumblr media
[Image ID: Susan flipping through a book] SUSAN: The fuck is this bullshit?
Cut back to BARBARA and IAN IAN: Well, that settles it. Something is definitely off about that situation. We should stake out her home address and see what’s up with that.
BARBARA: Now you’re talking!
Tumblr media
[Image ID: BARBARA and IAN standing in a classroom, looking at each other lovingly]
Cut to BARBARA and IAN in IAN’S CAR, parked outside the Foreman Junkyard eating Taco Bell.
Tumblr media
[Image ID: the blurriest photo ever of Ian and Barbara sitting in the front of Ian’s car]
BARBARA: Did you know Susan doesn’t know how English currency works?
Flashback to the classroom, where all of Susan’s classmates are laughing at her.
Tumblr media
[Image ID: Susan standing in the classroom, looking very upset]
SUSAN: Shit, you mean you haven’t converted to the decimal system yet? Now I’ll have to learn what sixpence and a shilling is!
Tumblr media
[Image ID: Barbara and Ian sitting in Ian’s car again, with Ian looking slightly annoyed] IAN: You know people from other countries exist, right?
BARBARA: Don’t chicken out on me, this whole operation was your idea.
IAN: I think you’re just really curious about this whole situation and that there’s a simple explanation for it all.
BARBARA: Her homework lately’s been shit! It’s the right thing to do!
IAN: Barbara, we’re staking out a junkyard in my car eating Taco Bell. There’s been shittier homework. Bad social skills, good schoolwork, and reading books in improbably short periods of time, you know what that sounds like to me? Autism.
BARBARA: It’s the 1960s, you’re not supposed to know that exists yet.
Then they notice Susan stepping into the junkyard and get out to follow her.
Tumblr media
[Image ID: BARBARA and IAN standing in front of a police box, placing their hands on it]
IAN: A police box? In a junkyard? Who’s going to have an emergency in here?
BARBARA: Forget that, where’d Susan go?
Just then, the DOCTOR steps into the screen!
Tumblr media
[Image ID: the First Doctor standing in a junkyard]
DOCTOR: Rassilon’s toenails, the only thing this planet has is weed and racism!
IAN: Hey you, have you seen a young woman wandering around here?
DOCTOR: No, I can’t say I have. And who are you again?
BARBARA: We’re Susan’s high school teachers. We’re here to check on her because we suspect that she might be hiding her grandfather’s corpse around here while the rats eat her homework.
DOCTOR: Uh huh… perhaps you have the wrong junkyard.
Suddenly they hear Susan’s voice coming from inside the police box!
SUSAN: Grandfather, you left the bong on the stack of scrap metal again!
BARBARA: Susan!
DOCTOR: Shit.
IAN: Are you her grandfather? Is she being locked inside that box? What the hell? Susan, try to dial the police from inside there!
Tumblr media
[Image ID: the Doctor looking at Ian smugly in the foreground while Barbara looks on in the background] DOCTOR: I think the two of you are just hearing things. You know how it is with junkyards and their junkyard echolocation. Common knowledge. This is just an ordinary, empty box.
IAN: If it’s just an ordinary box, then you wouldn’t mind stepping aside so we can look inside, would you?
DOCTOR: Oh, fuck off already!
IAN: Not in a million years. Susan, we’re coming for you!
The two of them tussle while BARBARA runs around them and opens the door to the police box.
Tumblr media
[Image ID: some blurry shit that looks like an old man throwing hands with a guy in his 30s if you squint]
Barbara steps into the police box, and all three of them end up on the inside!
Tumblr media
[Image ID: Barbara, Ian, the Doctor, and Susan all standing around the interior of the police box]
SUSAN: Grandfather, did you grab the bo- oh.
BARBARA: O_O
IAN: How is it bigger on the inside? That defies the laws of physics?
Tumblr media
[Image ID: the Doctor holding up one hand as he lectures Susan. Ian watches them in the foreground] DOCTOR: You’d better get used to it, because you’re my prisoners now. Susan, I told you something like this would happen if you tried to attend high school. Now we’ll have to get a litter box or something for them. I think Koschei left some collars and a leash somewhere around here last time he visited…
IAN: You can’t keep us prisoners in here, that’s inhumane! Besides, someone else is going to stumble onto this box eventually.
DOCTOR: Well then, it’s a good thing that neither I nor Susan are human, then? And I’ll just have to pilot the box elsewhere.
IAN: Pilot a box? But physics-
SUSAN: No, it’s true. Grandfather and I are both Time Lords from the planet Gallifrey, although those names won’t be established for another couple of seasons. The box is actually a time traveling ship called the TARDIS, which is an acronym that I came up with that’ll give a headache to anyone trying to understand the lore. We’re exiles, actually.
Tumblr media
[Image ID: Barbara looking at Susan sweetly but sternly]
BARBARA: Susan, sweetheart, have you ever heard of brainwashing?
SUSAN: You’re inside the ship! How do you want proof more definitive than that?
IAN: That’s it, I’m out of here.
Both Barbara and Ian attempt to leave the ship, but find themselves being held back.
Tumblr media
[Image ID: Barbara and Ian try to open the doors of the TARDIS but are unable to. Their faces are in distress]
BARBARA: Damn, that old bastard must’ve locked the doors somehow.
DOCTOR: Did you not hear the part where I said you’re my prisoners now?
IAN: I saw him pushing one of those buttons on the console!
DOCTOR: You’ll never find out which button that was! It takes decades to learn the controls to the TARDIS. Even I haven’t learned them all yet!
SUSAN: You threw away the instruction manual, grandfather.
Ian rushes at the control panel and presses a button, but the Doctor presses another button and he gets fucking tasered.
Tumblr media
[Image ID: Susan watches as Ian gets electrocuted]
DOCTOR: Bad human! Down!
SUSAN: Grandfather, no!
DOCTOR: Let’s get out of here, we’ve stayed in one place too long already. They wouldn’t let me join the Coal Hill PTA, anyways.
SUSAN: I won’t let you!
The Doctor starts operating the controls to the TARDIS, but Susan jumps at him from behind and knocks him off balance.
Tumblr media
[Image ID: a couple of smudges that look like Susan and the Doctor tussling behind the TARDIS console]
SUSAN: They have the Beatles and free love and people my own age here!
DOCTOR: My child, you’re several decades older than every other human at that high school.
SUSAN: I don’t care, you can’t tell me what to do anymore!
They knock over several levers and press multiple buttons in the process, and a few seconds later, the wheezing noise of the TARDIS taking off is heard. Everyone inexplicably passes out, and we fade to black. Then, the TARDIS reappears in an ancient landscape, where we see a strange face looking upon it…

Latest moon mission carries a new reflection on history
In July 1969, four faculty members traveled from College Park to Kennedy Space Center in Florida to provide last-minute instruction to a noteworthy pupil: an Apollo 11 astronaut about to become one of the first humans to set foot beyond Earth.
Just days later, lunar module pilot Buzz Aldrin would be following mission commander Neil Armstrong onto the moon's surface to deploy a UMD-led experiment. The suitcase-size array of retroreflectors—painstakingly crafted hunks of glass able to reflect light directly back to its source from any angle—would serve as a target for powerful lasers on Earth and provide the first accurate measurements of the distance between the planet and its satellite. In a meeting with Aldrin, then-Assistant Professor Douglas Currie, an expert in laser light, asked if the former fighter pilot with a Ph.D. in astronautics had any questions.
At a later lunar workshop, Currie recalls, Aldrin scoffed about the procedural instructions, "Ahh, it was so easy I decided I could give it to Armstrong."
But the wisecracking astronaut had done his homework, and for the last 55 years, that array and two more placed by successive Apollo missions have yielded a wealth of data for NASA's Lunar Laser Ranging experiment, helping scientists detect our moon's liquid core, bolstering Einstein's theory of general relativity and providing a better understanding of the evolution of the Earth-moon system, among other discoveries.
Now the university has done it again with the launch early Wednesday of the Next Generation Lunar Retroreflector as part of a mission scheduled to touch down on the moon on March 2. This time, Currie is principal investigator for the retroreflector project, a position held on the Apollo 11 project by the late physics Professor Carroll Alley.
There are no astronauts to train for this mission; the chunky "corner cube" retroreflector will arrive aboard an uncrewed craft launched by the company Firefly Aerospace as part of NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Services program and remain atop the lander for its operational life. (Subsequent reflectors to be developed by NASA with UMD's help, based on Currie's general design, are expected to be set up by astronauts in NASA's Artemis program, which aims to return to the moon later this decade.)
"When NASA announced back in 2004 they were going back to the moon, I said that instead of an array of 100, we need to have one big one, and I've been playing with that since then," says Currie, now a professor emeritus and senior research scientist in the Department of Physics.
He and NASA hope the next-gen device boosts precision in distance measurements by perhaps a factor of 30, from several centimeters of uncertainty to less than one millimeter.
The imprecision of the current device stems from the fact that observers watching from the ground don't know if a laser pulse bounces back from a reflector on the near corner or the far corner of the array, which are at slightly different and constantly changing distances from the ground because of the moon's slight back-and-forth movement relative to Earth. Having just one mirror removes uncertainty, Currie says.
The new setup will also have the advantage of being shiny and new. Though still functional, evidence suggests the Apollo 11 mission array is significantly blocked by lunar dust; calculations suggest the new device will be 10 times as bright as the current arrays, says Stephen Merkowitz, who's overseeing lunar laser ranging as Space Geodesy Project manager at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
Solving these problems will contribute to another one, however. The hefty chunk of glass making up the new single retroreflector mirror soaks up and sheds more heat during frigid lunar nights and blazing days, creating a greater possibility for temperature gradients and distorted reflections. Currie and his partners at the National Laboratories of Frascati in Italy worked to minimize that with the retroreflector's housing design.
"A lot of what we're looking to do today builds directly on what was done more than 50 years ago, so Doug's experience working on Apollo is valuable in the present," Merkowitz says.
Currie chuckles looking at a photo he keeps in his office in the Physics Building: It shows Aldrin strolling across the moon, swinging the original UMD mirror array in one hand and another priceless experiment in another. Times have changed.
"Now we're told the astronauts have to carry it in both hands, even though it weighs only a fraction of what Buzz was carrying," he says. "They want you to do one thing at a time, I guess."

Oh, no, I totally agree the devs and such aren't bringing this terrible behavior on themselves! It's just that it looks like (and I base this off things I've seen elsewhere, not just D2) the decisions by higher ups to push certain things (so much vital lore and story elements gone as soon as the seasons are over unless you do homework outside the game--props on them lasting the whole expansion now though), forcing you to buy more silver than needed so you're tempted to keep buying more to use the leftover but you keep having leftover, etc. help foster an environment where toxicity runs rampant. The players who want to be toxic thrive in these spaces because they can so easily co-opt valid criticisms of the game, company, and industry to spread toxicity and already frustrated and upset players are more likely to fall for it not realizing its unreasonable toxic nonsense. It is NOT the fault of the devs getting harassed, the fault lies higher up the chain and with the prevelance of these style choices in the industry as a whole. But a lot of the industry and structure of social media not only facilitates this sort of toxic behavior but encourages it so it shouldn't come as a surprise when it happens, is more what I mean. (That doesn't mean we shouldn't speak out against it just because it's the logical outcome of a mess of factors--it's still wrong and hurtful even if it makes sense that things are going this way). I feel like realizing that the industry and people higher up at companies create the conditions for this bad behavior to thrive is really important in order to work against it effectively
Oh yeah, for sure. The whole industry situation and the higher ups that make all of this happen in the first place is certainly a catalyst to an extent. I definitely wish more people would realise that. I think a lot of people operate under the notion that game developers are spiteful or evil and that they deliberately "ruin games" and that they deliberately don't listen to players, stuff like that. Then completely misleading and hateful comments from "pillars of community" stoke the fire and then everything gets put into the same blender and turns into what we have now.
The harassment at this point is definitely, unfortunately, expected. It's really awful that we had to get here and that most devs kinda have to accept that they will be harassed. Bungie has always also been a very community-oriented company that was super communicative and responsive. This is really good, but unfortunately it makes gamers feel entitled. You know, Bungie listens to us a lot, but not every time, so when they don't listen, clearly they're being spiteful. Basically giving gamers a finger and then they want a hand. And at one point it becomes impossible to satisfy everyone's wishes and then people get angry.
The recent Bungie win in court might help in the future though, now that there's precedent for companies being incentivised to protect their employees better. Other than that, there will have to be massive changes to every system in the world. Until then, hopefully better education and pushback against the assholes might help against this sort of thing. And if that fails, at least there's legal action and punishment available. Either way, gamers really need to learn to just disengage if things bother them too much. There's other things to do.

A Primer for Beginners in Cryptocurrency
Cryptocurrency has taken the financial world by storm, a phenomenon held in equal parts awe and scepticism. What is cryptocurrency, and why should beginners care? This guide will answer all these questions and provide a true definition of cryptocurrency, for the uninitiated.
What is Cryptocurrency?
Tumblr media
At its most basic, cryptocurrency is any type of digital or virtual currency that uses cryptography for security. Cryptocurrencies — which are not issued by a central government (like the US dollar or Euro), operate on networks known as blockchains. This decentralization means that it is not owned by a single entity, like the central bank of each country.
How Does Cryptocurrency Work?
Decentralization, Transparency and Immutability are the killer features of blockchain technology which is being utilized by cryptocurrencies. A  blockchain is a distributed ledger that keeps track of all transactions across a network of computers. When a block of transactions is added to the blockchain, it means that every new transaction in completion (e.g., money moving from one account to another) makes an update on all ledgers for their users.
The opaque and unreliable centralized system is avoided, allowing the data to be secure (distributed AND only YOU hold access), prompt & transparent. Bitcoin, the first and most famous cryptocurrency is a case in point: Bitcoin uses blockchain technology to enable peer-to-peer transactions without an intermediary (like a bank).
Popular Cryptocurrencies
Tumblr media
Bitcoin, is the best-known cryptocurrency and there are thousands of other cryptocurrencies with various uses and functionality. Here are a few notable ones:
Ethereum (ETH): Ethereum is a decentralized platform that runs smart contracts (like dApps) on its platform.
Ripple (XRP): While Ripple is designed as a digital payment protocol, it still serves the same use case of enabling instant and cheap across borders.
Litecoin (LTC): Often dubbed as silver to Bitcoin's gold, Litecoin has faster transaction confirmation times.
Why Invest in Cryptocurrency?
There are few reasons for which a realization of benefits can seem attractive in investing this digital currency.
High upside: Cryptocurrencies can also gain value by huge percentages. For example, the early investors of Bitcoin and Ethereum are currently smiling to their bank-account.
2. Diversification: Cryptocurrencies can be added to an investment portfolio in order to diversify it thereby decreasing the risk.
3. Innovation and Technology: Investing in cryptocurrencies is an investment into the underlying blockchain technology, a revolutionary tool with many uses beyond digital currencies.
Risks and Considerations
Tumblr media

Volatility: Cryptocurrency is known for its price volatility; prices fluctuate rapidly and dramatically.
Regulatory Risks: The regulatory backdrop for cryptocurrencies is definitely a work in progress and future regulations may affect the value of these digital currencies as well as how they can be used.
Security Risks: The blockchain is secure, the platform and exchange on which cryptocurrencies are stored can be hacked.

A Starter Guide to Armored Core Roleplay
Hey, buddy. I'll try and fill you in as quick as I can. The first thing you should know about Armored Core as a franchise is that there appear to be four big continuities:
the Armored Core 1 and 2 series, consisting of Armored Core, Project Phantasma, and Master of Arena on Earth, eventually leading to Armored Core 2 on Mars and Another Age back on Earth
the Armored Core 3 series, consisting of Armored Core 3, Silent Line, Nexus, Ninebreaker, Formula Front, and Last Raven, all taking place on Earth
the Armored Core 4 and 5 series, consisting of Armored Core 4, For Answer, then much later in time Armored Core V, and Verdict Day, all taking place on Earth
the Armored Core 6 series, so far just consisting of Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, taking place on the exoplanet Rubicon 3
All of these are valid for roleplay, and all possess interesting characters, settings, and lore. Today I'll be talking about the Armored Core 6 series though, because Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon just came out recently, is far and away the most easily accessible of the games, and it possesses the most compelling characters in the franchise's history. Its unique nature as the only interstellar entry in the series also provides much more freedom when it comes to roleplay. There's a lot of free real estate.
So, let's say you just got done playing Armored Core VI, or saw some footage and vibed with it. You found you really liked a character and want to muse them, or you want to adapt a muse from some other fandom for a verse/AU, or you want to make an original character in the setting, or anything in between. Where do you begin?
Let me help you out, buddy.
The first thing I'd recommend is: ignore the endings. They're all bad. I don't mean that they're poorly written, I mean that they're all bad outcomes for the setting and for all the characters involved. Just handwave it. Imagine a fourth ending that muddled through and preserves an uneasy status quo. Did your favorite character die in the endings, or sometime before? No they didn't. Just rewrite it. Armored Cores canonically have ejector seats. Keep it kinda vague so you can easily operate with anybody else, but otherwise, don't sweat it.
The second thing I'd recommend is: let your imagination run wild. I'm running a service on my main blog where I'll come up with a verse/AU for existing muses, to include AC designs with rough paintjobs (you can view these in this tag) but if you already have an idea, just do it. There really are no hard rules; just write.
Alright, I said I'll keep it brief, so I'm going to give you some CliffsNotes on the setting without all the supporting evidence and homework:
Human space in Armored Core VI probably comprises somewhere between 3,000 and 5,000 exosolar planets at a minimum. This suggests somewhere between 300 and 1,000 star systems, or more. The only places mentioned explicitly by name are Rubicon 3, and the Jupiter colonies. There was also a "Four Island Disturbance" but that could mean anything, really. You're free to make up whatever you want.
There is FTL travel of some kind, and it's both pretty ubiquitous and fairly fast. There's a lot of interstellar commerce going on, and human space is pretty well linked up considering there is a unified and universally recognized currency in the form of COAM. The setting features some kind of stasis, although whether this is merely general purpose or used predominantly for interstellar travel is unclear. It doesn't seem to be particularly tricky to use.
Human augmentation with genetic engineering or cybernetics to some extent doesn't seem particularly rare, although those properly addressed as "augmented humans" probably number in the tens to hundreds of thousands at most, and mostly seem to be military personnel or mercenaries. Augmentation surgery was quite dangerous until about 30 or so years before Armored Core VI begins. It's quite safe at present, but expensive. There may or may not be human longevity technology, it doesn't matter too much. AI is very much a thing, though somewhat uncommon at small scales. City to continent scale megastructures and space engineering are quite feasible.
Armored Core VI takes place in the indeterminate future, but isn't so far in the future that Earth-based ethnicities and nationalities have completely died out. Using existing cultures, mashing up existing cultures, or inventing new cultures are all perfectly fine.
The only known thing approaching a government entity in Armored Core VI is the Planetary Closure Administration (PCA) which is basically a police force for the Rubicon star system. They were most likely originally set up by corporations and planetary governments. Planetary level is likely the largest size governments come in within the setting, possibly a few planets and moons; there are likely not immense or substantial empires or federations. Armored Core games are traditionally dominated by megacorporations, but state actors likely still exist.
While Armored Core VI features two major corporations (Balam Industries and Arquebus Corporation), as well as several smaller ones and subsidiaries, there is no reason to believe there aren't more that specialize in other things or subcontract their work to these. You're again free to make up whatever you want.
You're probably generally okay with using Halo or Aliens as sources of inspiration in terms of the scale of things, although remember that there are probably no big overarching interstellar governments.
Armored Cores (ACs) are the main high-end form of mechanized warfare, which goes by the name 'Core Theory' and involves close-range, heavy firepower, high mobility assaults using them. These were developed from less sophisticated machines called Muscle Tracers (MTs) which comprise the bulk of armed forces, although other vehicles like aircraft and ground vehicles still exist, and infantry combat still takes place as well.
I think that's a good place to end for a starter guide. If you have particular questions, ask in a reply and I'll try and answer. But really, if you like mecha, sky's the limit. You ready to climb The Wall?

Topic: "Dynamic Modeling with Sequence Diagrams in UML"
Dynamic modeling in UML, specifically through sequence diagrams, offers a powerful way to visualize the interactions and flow of messages between objects in a system. Let's delve into some master-level sample questions and answers to showcase the depth of this topic.
Sample Questions:
1. Design a sequence diagram for an online shopping system where a user adds items to the cart, proceeds to checkout, and completes the purchase. Highlight user interactions and system responses.
Answer:
uml
@startuml actor User participant Cart participant Checkout participant Payment User -> Cart: Add items to cart activate Cart Cart -> Checkout: Proceed to checkout activate Checkout Checkout -> Payment: Complete purchase activate Payment Payment --> Checkout: Confirmation deactivate Payment Checkout --> Cart: Confirmation deactivate Checkout Cart --> User: Order confirmation deactivate Cart @enduml
2. Implement a Java code snippet for a class involved in the sequence diagram above, demonstrating the handling of cart operations.
Answer:
java
public class ShoppingCart { private List<Item> items = new ArrayList<>(); public void addItem(Item item) { items.add(item); } public List<Item> getItems() { return items; } // Other relevant methods... }
3. Explain the use of asynchronous messages in a sequence diagram and provide an example scenario where they are beneficial.
Answer: Asynchronous messages in UML sequence diagrams represent interactions where the sender does not need to wait for a response. For example, in a messaging system, a user might send a message to another user without waiting for an immediate reply. This non-blocking communication allows for increased system responsiveness and efficiency.

5 Tips for Choosing the Right Macroeconomics Homework Help Service
Macroeconomics homework can be challenging, and many students find themselves seeking assistance to navigate through complex concepts and assignments. If you've ever thought, "Who can do my macroeconomics homework?" you're not alone. The rise of online homework help services has made it easier for students to find support, but with the plethora of options available, it's crucial to choose the right service for your needs. In this blog, we'll explore five essential tips to help you select the best macroeconomics homework help service for a seamless learning experience.
Check Reputation and Reviews
Start your search for the perfect macroeconomics homework help service by researching and evaluating their reputation. Look for reviews and testimonials from other students who have used the service. You can find these on the service's website, educational forums, or review platforms. Pay attention to the overall satisfaction of the users and specific comments about the quality of macroeconomics homework help provided.
A reputable service will have positive reviews highlighting their reliability, professionalism, and the ability to deliver accurate and timely assistance. Additionally, consider the duration the service has been in operation—a longer track record often indicates stability and reliability.
Expertise of Tutors
The quality of the assistance you receive largely depends on the expertise of the tutors. When selecting a macroeconomics homework help service, inquire about the qualifications and experience of the tutors they employ. Ensure that the tutors are well-versed in macroeconomic concepts and have relevant academic backgrounds.
Look for services that provide information about their tutors on their website. This transparency indicates confidence in the qualifications of their team. Moreover, you may want to check if the tutors are experienced in providing tailored assistance for different levels of macroeconomics coursework, ensuring they can cater to your specific academic needs.
Plagiarism Policies
Originality is a non-negotiable aspect of academic work. Ensure that the macroeconomics homework help service you choose has robust policies against plagiarism. Plagiarism can have severe consequences, ranging from a failing grade to academic penalties. Reputable services should guarantee original and customized content for each assignment.
Ask about the service's approach to plagiarism detection and prevention. Reliable services often use plagiarism-checking tools and provide plagiarism reports upon request. By choosing a service with strict anti-plagiarism policies, you can be confident that the macroeconomics homework help you receive is both authentic and academically sound.
Turnaround Time and Flexibility:
Time is often a critical factor when it comes to completing homework assignments. Before choosing a macroeconomics homework help service, inquire about their turnaround time. A reliable service should be able to meet your deadlines and provide timely assistance.
Moreover, consider the flexibility of the service. Some assignments may require urgent attention, and a service that offers expedited options can be invaluable during busy academic periods. Check if the service has a system for accommodating urgent requests and if there are additional charges for expedited services.
Communication Channels and Customer Support
Effective communication is essential when seeking macroeconomics homework help. Before committing to a service, assess their communication channels and customer support. A reliable service should have clear and accessible communication channels, such as live chat, email, or phone support.
Test the responsiveness of their customer support team by asking a few pre-purchase questions. Pay attention to how quickly and thoroughly they address your queries. This is indicative of the level of support you can expect when you're actively using their macroeconomics homework help services.
Conclusion
Choosing the right macroeconomics homework help service is crucial for academic success. By considering factors such as reputation, tutor expertise, plagiarism policies, turnaround time, and communication channels, you can make an informed decision. Remember to prioritize services that align with your specific needs and contribute positively to your learning experience. With the right support, navigating macroeconomics assignments can become a more manageable and educational process.
